Create New Preventive Maintenance Schedule

  1. Choose between two options:

    • Click the down arrow next to the New button.

    • Select File > New > Select from the Main Menu.

      The Module menu opens.

  2. Select Preventive Maintenance from the menu.

The Preventive Maintenance Details page opens.

  3. Enter a unique identifier in the PM ID field.

In many installations, a naming convention is used that combines the asset classification and scheduled interval.

For example, for a schedule defined to run monthly and quarterly for the asset classification Auto, the schedule might be identified as AUTO-M-Q.

If you enter an ID that is already in use, you are prompted to correct this when you attempt to save the new record.

  4. Enter a descriptive name in the Name field.

The name does not need to be unique. Both the PM ID and Name fields appear in the Preventive Maintenance List.

  5. Enter additional data for your new preventive maintenance schedule on the Details page.

  6. Select the Schedule tab and indicate the schedule to be followed.

The schedule can be time-based or meter-based.

  7. Select the Procedures tab and indicate the procedure to be run.

Each preventive maintenance schedule requires at least one procedure. Saving a PM before attaching a procedure requires that you fill out the details of a new procedure from scratch, or you can set a default procedure to populate to the PM automatically.

  8. Select the Assets tab and indicate the assets that will be associated with this schedule.

  9. Add additional data for the schedule on the other PM pages as needed.

  10. Click Save.
